Test and refine your AI assistant with real-time skill monitoring and voice call simulation before guests interact with it.
AI Lab: Test Your Assistant
What it does
AI Lab lets you test and refine your AI assistant directly from your dashboard before guests interact with it. You can simulate guest conversations, see exactly how your assistant handles requests like early check-in or late checkout, and even test voice calls with real property details. Everything happens in a safe testing environment that won't affect your actual guest communications.
Getting started
Accessing AI Lab
- Navigate to AI Lab — Go to your dashboard and click on "AI Lab" in the main navigation
- Select a property — Choose which listing you want to test the assistant for
- Choose test context (optional) — Select a specific reservation to test with real guest details, or test without a reservation for general scenarios

Running your first test
- Start a conversation — Type a message as if you're a guest (e.g., "Can I check in early tomorrow?")
- Send the message — Click send or press Enter
- Watch the assistant work — You'll see your assistant's response plus detailed behind-the-scenes information about what skills were used
- Continue the conversation — Keep testing different scenarios to see how your assistant handles various guest requests
Testing voice calls
- Click "Test Voice Call" — Find this button in the AI Lab interface
- Allow microphone access — Your browser will ask for permission to use your microphone
- Start talking — Speak naturally as if you're calling as a guest
- Experience the full conversation — Your assistant will respond using your actual property details and reservation information
- End the call — Click the hang-up button when you're done testing

How it works
When you test conversations in AI Lab, your assistant processes requests just like it would for real guests, but with full visibility into its decision-making process.
What you see:
- Your assistant's actual response that guests would receive
- Skill execution details — Which specific skills were activated (like "Early Check-in Request" or "Property Information")
- Step-by-step actions — What your assistant did behind the scenes, explained in plain language
- Response timing — How quickly your assistant processed the request
- Data sources used — What information your assistant referenced to provide the answer
Voice testing specifics: When testing voice calls, you experience the same conversation flow your guests would have, including natural speech recognition and voice responses. The assistant uses your real property details, reservation information, and booking policies to provide accurate responses.
Safe testing environment: All AI Lab conversations are completely separate from your guest communications. Nothing you test will send messages to guests or affect live reservations.

Tips & best practices
Test common scenarios first:
- Early/late check-in requests
- Property amenity questions
- Local area recommendations
- Booking modification requests
- Emergency or urgent situations
Use real reservation context: When possible, test with actual upcoming reservations. This ensures your assistant has access to the same information it would during real guest interactions.
Test voice and text separately: Some guests prefer calling while others text. Test both methods to ensure consistent quality across communication channels.
Review skill execution details: Pay attention to which skills activate and whether your assistant is using the most appropriate tools for each guest request.
Test edge cases: Try unusual requests or scenarios that might confuse your assistant. This helps identify areas where you might need to adjust your property information or policies.
Regular testing schedule: Test your assistant periodically, especially after updating property details, policies, or seasonal information.
Common questions
Will my testing conversations be sent to guests? No, AI Lab creates a completely isolated testing environment. Nothing you test will result in actual guest communications.
Can I test with future reservations? Yes, you can select upcoming reservations to test scenarios with real guest names, dates, and booking details. This helps ensure your assistant will handle actual guest requests accurately.
What if I find issues during testing? If your assistant doesn't respond appropriately, check your property information, policies, and assistant settings in your dashboard. Most issues stem from missing or outdated property details that your assistant needs to provide accurate responses.
