Tasks on the Property Overview

Every property has a Tasks section on its overview page. It shows that property's real work — the same tasks you would find on the main Tasks screen, already narrowed to the property you are looking at.

What you see by default

Open work first: To Do, In Progress and Blocked. The count in the section header is the true total for the filters you have applied, not the number of rows on screen, so it never quietly under-reports.

Clicking a task opens it in the same panel you use everywhere else, so you can reassign it, comment on it or close it without losing your place on the property.

Laundry is left out until you ask for it

On a busy property, laundry tasks can easily outnumber everything else four to one. The section would open on linen and push the maintenance job you came to find out of sight, so laundry is excluded from the default view.

It is not hidden from you. There is a Laundry button beside the status buttons, and the line underneath the buttons always says whether laundry is currently in or out. One press brings it back.

If a property's only open work is laundry, the section will look empty — and it says so in those words, with a reminder that the Laundry button will show it. On a portfolio with a lot of linen this is common, and it is the section being accurate rather than broken.

Two things never surprise you here:

• If you set a category filter yourself, it wins. The default gets out of the way entirely rather than quietly narrowing what you chose, and the Laundry button greys out to show your own choice is in charge.
• Searching still finds laundry tasks. A search that tells you something does not exist would be worse than a crowded list.

Filtering

The full filter set from the main Tasks screen is available, scoped to this one property:

• Status — switch Completed and Cancelled on, or pick any other status
• Due date and Completed date — both at once, each with its own window
• Category, Priority, Assignee, Tags
• Overdue and My tasks
• Search across task titles

Filters are written into the page address, so a filtered view is a link you can send to someone else and they will see the same thing.

Opening the full Tasks screen

Open in Tasks takes you to the main Tasks screen showing exactly what the section was showing — the same property, the same statuses, the same dates and the same laundry setting. The number in the section and the screen it sends you to always agree.

What is deliberately not here

• No property picker. The section is already one property, and a picker inside it could only contradict its own heading. Use the main Tasks screen to compare properties.
• No created-date filter. The data behind the section cannot answer that question, and a filter that appears to work while doing nothing is worse than no filter.
