How It Works — Tasks via Text Message
Vanio is built to be the simplest possible way for cleaners and maintenance crews to get work and get paid. If you can send a text message, you can use Vanio. No app download is required — though the app makes some things even easier.
The basics
- You get an SMS when a job is offered to you
- You reply 1 to accept or 2 to decline
- You show up, do the work, and reply done when finished
- You send photos (also by text)
- You get paid — usually within minutes
That's the entire flow. No logins, no paperwork, no chasing invoices.
Signing up
Your host or company sends you an invite by SMS. Tap the link, enter your name, and set up payouts (one-time, about 3 minutes). After that, every offer arrives as a regular text.
If you want, you can also install the Vanio app from the App Store or Google Play. It's not required, but it gives you:
- A map of all open jobs
- Your full schedule and pay history
- Photo upload from the gallery
- Instant push notifications (faster than SMS)
- Chat with hosts
Your first job
The first time you accept a job, you'll see:
- Full address and map
- Check-in instructions (door code, lockbox, etc.)
- A checklist — tap each step as you complete it
- Required photos — taken in the app or texted in
When you're done, tap Mark Complete or text done. That's it.
Getting paid
Most hosts use instant pay, which means your money is in your bank within minutes of finishing a job. Some hosts pay weekly — either way, everything is tracked and you never need to invoice.
Getting more work
- Keep your availability up to date
- Complete jobs on time
- Send good photos
- Turn on the Vanio marketplace for extra jobs in your area
The more reliable you are, the more offers you'll see and the faster they'll come in.
