Build a Portfolio That Wins You Work
Turn your past task reports into a portfolio that proves your quality to new hosts — and stop competing on price alone.
Why a portfolio matters
When you're pitching a new host, words only go so far. "We're thorough and reliable" sounds the same coming from every cleaning company. What actually wins the job is showing real proof — real photos, real checklists, real ratings from other hosts who already trust you.
A portfolio of past task reports does exactly that. It's the difference between competing on price (where you'll always lose to someone cheaper) and competing on trust (where you can charge what you're worth).
What goes into a portfolio
A good portfolio is a small, curated set of your best task reports. Each report already includes everything a prospective host wants to see:
- Photos of the property after you finished
- The full checklist you completed
- Time spent on site
- Any issues you flagged and how you handled them
- The host's rating and comments
Your job is to pick the strongest examples and put them in one place.
Building your portfolio
- Open the Reports section in your dashboard.
- Filter by 5-star ratings to see your best work.
- Open a report you're proud of.
- Tap Add to Portfolio.
- Repeat for 8 to 15 reports that show range — different property types, different sizes, different challenges.
You can add and remove reports from the portfolio anytime. There's no limit, but quality beats quantity. A focused 10-report portfolio lands better than 50 average ones.
What to include
Aim for variety and depth:
- Different property types — a studio, a 2-bedroom apartment, a large house, a condo
- Multiple reports from the same property to show consistency over time
- Thorough checklists — every box ticked, with notes
- Clear photo documentation — full rooms, good lighting, before-and-after where it helps
- High ratings — mostly 5-star reports
- Issue handling — at least one or two reports where you spotted a problem and handled it like a pro
The "issue handling" examples are surprisingly powerful. Hosts know things go wrong — what they want to see is how you respond when they do.
Sharing your portfolio
Once you've added reports, tap Share Portfolio to get a single link. Send it to anyone — a host you're pitching, an owner asking for proof of quality, a property manager doing background checks.
The link works in any browser. No login, no account, no app needed. Whoever opens it sees your portfolio as a polished page with each report a tap away.
Using it in sales conversations
A few ways to put your portfolio to work:
- Send the link before the meeting. Hosts who arrive having already seen your work are halfway sold before you say a word.
- Walk through one or two standout reports during the call. Don't just hand them the link — narrate what they're seeing.
- Point out specific details. "Here's how we document the kitchen" or "See the time stamps — we're always done at least an hour before check-in."
- Let real ratings do the talking. When a host sees a real 5-star rating from another host, it carries more weight than anything you could say about yourself.
Quality over price
The cleaners who compete only on price have a hard time. There's always someone cheaper, and the work usually shows it. The cleaners who build documented track records of careful work charge more, get repeat clients, and don't have to scramble for jobs.
Your portfolio is what shifts the conversation. Instead of "what's your rate?" you start hearing "when can you start?"
Common questions
Will hosts see other hosts' names in my reports? No — property names and personal details are removed when reports are shared in a portfolio.
Can I update my portfolio after sharing the link? Yes. The same link will always show your current selection.
How often should I refresh it? Every couple of months, swap in newer reports as your work improves.
Can I have more than one portfolio? Yes — create separate portfolios for different niches (luxury, budget, large homes) and share the most relevant one with each prospect.
