Create a listing on VRBO

Create a brand-new VRBO listing from any Vanio listing in one click. Vanio builds the listing on VRBO from your Vanio content — description, photos, amenities, rooms, house rules, fees and prices — publishes it, and connects it so its calendar stays in sync from the first minute.

Before you start

• Connect your VRBO account under Apps → VRBO (Connecting VRBO). Creation needs a property-manager or owner VRBO account.
• Make sure the listing's content is complete in Vanio: address, description, photos and a nightly price. Vanio tells you what is missing before it starts.
• The listing must not already be on VRBO. To connect a listing that already exists on VRBO, map it from the VRBO app instead.

Create the listing

1. Open the listing and go to Platforms.
2. Under Push this listing to a new platform, click Create on VRBO.
3. Choose the VRBO account and click Create on VRBO.

Creation takes 10–30 minutes, mostly for the photos, which VRBO takes one at a time. You can leave the page — progress shows again when you come back. When it finishes, the VRBO listing appears on the Platforms tab, connected and syncing.

What Vanio copies to VRBO

• Headline and description — your Vanio description, or your listing's sections (the space, guest access, the neighbourhood, getting around, other things to note) when there is no single description. House rules are added at the end when they fit.
• Photos — every photo, in your Vanio order.
• Rooms — each bedroom with its beds, each bathroom (full or half).
• Amenities — every amenity VRBO has a checkbox for; the rest are listed in VRBO's "Additional info".
• House rules — guests, children, pets, smoking, events.
• Booking settings — check-in and check-out times, minimum stay, notice before arrival and how far ahead guests can book.
• Prices and fees — nightly rate with your VRBO markup, cleaning fee, pet fee and extra-guest fee. Vanio also turns off VRBO's automatic 10% new-listing discount, so guests pay your prices.
• Cancellation policy — the same refund windows as your Vanio policy.
• Registration number — where your area requires one.
• Calendar — once connected, Vanio sends the whole calendar: availability, prices and minimum stays.

Where VRBO differs

VRBO has rules Vanio follows automatically. Vanio tells you when it had to adjust something:

• Headlines can't contain "|" — Vanio replaces it with " - ".
• Descriptions can't mention other booking sites — Vanio leaves those passages out.
• Descriptions are limited to 10,000 characters.
• Notice before arrival is 1, 2, 3 or 5 days, and the booking window is 6, 9, 12, 18 or 24 months — Vanio picks the closest option.
• VRBO reviews every photo and hides the ones that break its photo rules, such as collages or close-ups of faces. When that happens, Vanio shows which photos VRBO did not accept and why.
• VRBO has no 48-hour grace period after booking — with a Strict policy, guests get 50% back up to 7 days before check-in.

After creation

• Add your payout details in VRBO if you have not already — VRBO asks for them on the account.
• VRBO reviews new listings before they appear in search.
