How to send photos

From the Vanio SMS thread on your phone:

1. Open the thread like any other text conversation
2. Tap the camera or photo icon
3. Take a new photo or pick from your gallery
4. Hit send

That's it. Vanio matches your photo to the next checklist item on your task and runs AI verification automatically.

What happens next

Within seconds, you get a text back with the AI result:

• Pass — "Make the bed — Passed! Bed looks great, linens are fresh and pillows arranged neatly."
• Needs fixing — "Clean kitchen counters — Needs attention. Water spots visible near the sink. Please wipe down and resend a photo."

Fix the issue, take another photo, send it. The AI checks again. You keep going until everything passes or you move on.

What photos to send

Most hosts set up checklists that tell you exactly what to shoot. Common shots:

• Made beds (one per bedroom)
• Bathrooms after cleaning (toilet, shower, sink)
• Kitchen sparkle shot (sink and counters)
• Final living room view
• Trash taken out
• Any damage or issues you spotted

If a checklist item has a reference image, the AI compares your photo against it. Try to match the same angle as the reference for the best results.

Ratings

Some checklist items ask for a rating — stars, pass/fail, thumbs up/down, or yes/no. You complete these in the app or upload page. If a rating is required, you can't skip it.

Photo quality tips

• Turn on the lights before shooting — dark photos score lower in AI verification
• Hold the phone steady — blurry photos may fail review
• Shoot from the doorway so the whole room is in frame
• Match the reference image angle when one is provided
• Don't use filters — the host needs to see real colors

What the host sees

Every photo lands on the task report with:

• Expected vs. Approved — your photo next to the reference image
• AI verification result — passed or failed with specific feedback
• Previous attempts — if you retook a photo, earlier versions and their rejection reasons are visible
• Your ratings — any ratings you gave per checklist item

Thorough photographers with high AI pass rates get more work, better ratings, and earn more.

In your language

AI feedback arrives in your preferred language automatically. If you speak Spanish, the pass/fail result comes in Spanish. The host sees the English version on their end.

Privacy

Photos you send to Vanio are only visible to the host and the task report. They're not shared publicly, not used for marketing, and you can request deletion from any task by replying delete photo.

Common questions

What if AI says my photo failed but I know it's fine? Move on — the host can review and override. AI helps catch issues but isn't the final judge.

Do I have to use MMS? No — you can also use the upload link in your text message, or the Vanio app. MMS is just the fastest.

Is there a file size limit? Standard MMS limits apply (around 1MB per image). Vanio compresses automatically.
