Task Issues
Track, resolve, and escalate property issues from anywhere — including the operations dashboard and mobile — with the full issues panel now available in every task view.
Issues let anyone on your team flag a problem against a task — a missing supply, damage found during a clean, a lock that won't pair — and keep it visible until it's resolved. They turn "something's wrong here" from a lost text message into a tracked item attached to the job and the property.
Adding an issue
Open any task and use the Add issue button. Describe what's wrong, and the issue is attached to that task.
Submitting an issue is now near-instant. As soon as you confirm, the form closes and you're back to work — you won't see it hang or appear to be loading. The issues panel refreshes in the background, so the new issue will appear there momentarily without any action needed on your part.
Any team member can add an issue — not just managers or the person who created the task. The cleaner who finds a broken blind, the maintenance tech who spots a leak, the inspector who notices a burnt-out bulb: whoever is standing in the unit can raise the issue on the spot, so it's captured while the detail is fresh and never depends on someone remembering to report it later.
Photo & Video Evidence
When filling out the Add Issue form, you'll see a Photo & Video Evidence field marked as Optional. You can submit an issue with just a description if that's all you have — no photos or videos are required. That said, adding visual evidence is always a good idea when you can: photos and videos help document the problem clearly and give your team the full picture when reviewing or resolving the issue.
Every open issue at a property, in one place
Issues aren't just stuck to a single task. Vanio AI rolls up all open issues for a property across every task at that property, so you get one running list of everything outstanding at a unit — no matter which clean, inspection, or maintenance visit first surfaced it.
This is how you see the true state of a property. Instead of clicking through a dozen past tasks to reconstruct what's still broken, you look at one list: these three things are open at this unit, raised across these jobs, still waiting to be handled. It's the punch list for the property, kept current automatically as your team works.
The issues indicator on every task
The issues indicator appears in two places, giving you the full picture for a property wherever you're working:
- In the task list and on board cards — every task row and card shows a compact badge if its property has open issues, so you can spot problems without opening a single task.
- In the task header — whenever you open a task, the header shows the same indicator with full detail.
In both cases the badge reflects the complete picture for that property — not just the issues attached to the task you're looking at.

In the task list and on board cards
Every task row in the list view and every card on the board now shows a compact issues badge directly on the card — below the property name. You can immediately see whether a property has unresolved problems without clicking into the task at all.
- No badge — the property has no open issues.
- Amber badge (e.g. ⚠ 2) — the property has open issues, none of them blocking.
- Red badge (e.g. ⚠ 1) — the property has at least one blocking issue.
- Counts over 10 display as 10+.

In the task header
Whenever you open any task at a property, the header shows an issues indicator that reflects the full picture for that property — not just the issues attached to the task you're currently viewing.

What you'll see:
- No open issues anywhere — a neutral Add issue button appears, giving you an easy entry point to raise the first issue.
- Open issues on this task — a colored badge shows the total count, for example 3 issues.
- Open issues on other tasks at this property, but none on this task — a badge labeled N property issues appears, making it clear the open work lives on a different task at the same property. You won't miss it just because you happened to open a different job.
- Open issues on both this task and other tasks — the badge shows the combined count across the whole property.
- All issues resolved and the property is clear — a green N resolved badge confirms everything has been closed out.
Badge colors tell you the urgency at a glance:
- 🔴 Red — at least one open issue at this property is marked as blocking.
- 🟡 Yellow — open issues exist but none are blocking.
- 🟢 Green — all issues on this task are resolved and there are no open issues elsewhere at the property.
Counts over 10 display as 10+, indicating there are more than ten open issues across the property.
Clicking the badge — whatever color or label it shows — opens the Issues panel, where you can see both this task's issues and any open issues from other tasks at the property.

Managing issues from the operations dashboard
If you work from the operations dashboard, the full issues workflow — adding issues, resolving them, and escalating them — is now available directly in the task details pane, without leaving the dashboard.
Previously, the task pane on the operations dashboard only showed a count of unresolved issues. You can now do everything there that you could do in the full task view: add a new issue, mark one as resolved, or escalate it. The issues panel in the operations task pane reflects the complete picture for the property, exactly the same as it does everywhere else.

On mobile
On a phone or tablet, the full task details — including the issues panel — are now reachable from a tab on the right edge of the screen when a task is open. Tap that tab to slide in the complete details pane. Tap the × button or swipe it away to go back to the chat timeline.

Invoice columns in the task list
The Invoice and Invoice Amount columns are now hidden from the task list by default to keep the view uncluttered. If you need them, you can bring them back at any time using the Columns button at the top of the task list and toggling them on.
Tips & best practices
- Spot issues before you open a task. The amber or red badge on a task row or board card tells you straight away that a property needs attention — no need to click in to find out.
- Don't assume a clean task means a clean property. If you see a property issues badge on a task you're reviewing, open the Issues panel to understand what's still outstanding at that unit before marking work complete.
- Blocking issues stand out in red — use the blocking flag when an unresolved issue genuinely prevents the next guest from checking in or the next job from being done safely.
- Raise issues where you find them. Log an issue against the task you're currently working, even if the problem might belong to a different job type. The property-wide roll-up means it will still surface for anyone else working at that unit.
- Submit and move on. Issue submission is instant — the moment you confirm, the issue is saved and the form closes. If the panel doesn't show your new issue right away, give it a moment to refresh on its own; you don't need to do anything.
- Photos and videos are optional, but worth adding when you can. You can submit an issue with just a description, but a quick photo goes a long way toward helping your team understand and resolve the problem faster.
- Resolve and escalate from the operations dashboard. You no longer need to leave your operations view to act on an issue — the full add, resolve, and escalate controls are right there in the task pane.
- On mobile, swipe open the details pane. If you're reviewing tasks on your phone, tap the tab on the right edge to reach the issues panel and all other task details without switching screens.
- Resolve issues as you go. Closing out issues promptly keeps the indicator accurate for your whole team — a green badge is a reliable signal, not just a guess.
Common questions
Why does a task card or list row show an issues badge when I haven't opened the task? The badge reflects every open issue at the property, not just issues on that specific task. If any task at the same property has unresolved issues, the badge appears so you can see it at a glance. Click into the task and then click the badge to see the full list.
Why does a task show an issues badge when I haven't added any issues to it? The badge reflects every open issue at the property, not just the ones on the task you're viewing. If another task at the same property — a previous clean, an inspection, a maintenance visit — has unresolved issues, you'll see them flagged here. The property issues label tells you the open items belong to other tasks. Click the badge to see the full list.
What's the difference between a red and a yellow badge? Red means at least one open issue anywhere at this property has been marked as blocking — something that could prevent a guest stay or stop the next job from proceeding safely. Yellow means there are open issues, but none of them are flagged as blocking. Either color means action is needed; red means it's urgent.
I submitted an issue and the form closed immediately — did it save? Yes. The form closes as soon as your issue is saved, which now happens in under a second. You won't see a loading spinner or delay. The issues panel updates in the background, so your new issue will appear there shortly. If you don't see it immediately, wait a moment — no need to re-submit.
Do I have to upload a photo or video when reporting an issue? No. The Photo & Video Evidence field is optional — you can submit an issue with just a description. Adding photos or videos is still a good habit when you're able to, since they help your team understand and resolve the problem more quickly, but the form will never block you from submitting just because you didn't attach a file.
Can I see more than 10 open issues? The badge shows up to 10+ when a property has more than ten open issues across its tasks. Click the badge to open the Issues panel, where the full list is available.
The Invoice columns have disappeared from my task list — where did they go? They're still available but hidden by default to reduce clutter. Click the Columns button at the top of the task list and toggle Invoice and Invoice Amount back on.
I manage tasks from the operations dashboard — can I add and resolve issues without opening the full task view? Yes. The full issues panel is now built into the operations task pane. Select any task from the operations dashboard and you'll find the complete issues workflow — add, resolve, and escalate — without needing to navigate away.
I'm on mobile and I can't see the task details or issues panel — where are they? Look for the small tab on the right edge of the screen when a task is open. Tap it to slide in the full details pane, which includes the issues panel, checklist, and all other task information. Tap the × in the top-right corner of the pane to close it and return to the chat timeline.
