Setting Up Your Payouts
To get paid through Vanio, you need to set up your payout destination — the bank account or card where your money lands. It takes about 3 minutes and you only have to do it once.
When to set up
The first time a host assigns you a paid task, Vanio sends you an SMS with a secure setup link:

Tap the link and follow the steps. You don't need to download anything.
What you'll enter
- Your full legal name
- Date of birth
- Address
- Phone and email
- Bank account details (routing + account number) or a debit card
- ID verification (driver's license or passport photo)
This info is handled by Stripe, our payment partner. Vanio never stores or sees your bank details — they go straight to Stripe and are encrypted end-to-end.
How long does verification take?
Most accounts verify instantly. If Stripe needs a second look (e.g. your ID photo is blurry), it can take a few hours. You can still accept and complete jobs during verification — your pay is held safely and released as soon as verification clears.
Bank account vs debit card
- Bank account — payouts arrive in 1-2 business days. Lower fees.
- Debit card — instant payouts (within minutes). Small fee per payout.
Most cleaners pick the bank account for normal pay and enable instant-to-card for emergencies.
Changing your payout destination
Open the Vanio app or any Vanio SMS thread:
- Tap Menu → Payouts
- Tap Update payout method
- Enter the new details
- Verify
Your next payout will go to the new destination.
Getting paid in different currencies
Vanio supports payouts in USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, and 30+ other currencies. Your payouts arrive in your local currency automatically — if a host in a different country pays you, Stripe handles the conversion at the interbank rate.
Common questions
Is there a fee? Standard bank payouts are free. Instant-to-card payouts have a small fee (shown before you confirm).
What if I don't have a bank account? You can use a prepaid debit card that supports direct deposit. Ask the host for recommendations if you're not sure.
Where can I see my history? Tap Menu → Earnings in the app for a full history of tasks, pay, and tips.
What happens at tax time? Vanio issues a 1099 (US) or equivalent statement (other countries) each January. You can also download CSVs any time.
