Completing Tasks — Text "Done"

When you've finished cleaning, marking the task complete is as simple as replying done to any SMS from Vanio. You can also tap Mark Complete in the app — whichever is easier.

The text-based way

From the job thread on your phone:

Vanio confirms and asks for any required photos:

Great! Please send photos of: made beds, clean bathrooms, final kitchen view.

Reply with photos (up to 10 in one message). When all required photos are in, the task is complete and your pay is released.

The app-based way

1. Open the Vanio app
2. Tap the task in Today
3. Tick off any remaining checklist steps
4. Tap Mark Complete
5. Upload photos if you haven't already

What happens next

• Instant payout — if the host uses instant pay, your money is on its way within minutes
• Photo review — the host sees your photos on the reservation timeline
• Next task — if you're assigned more work that day, it moves to the top of your list
• Rating — once the guest checks in and doesn't report issues, your reliability score ticks up

Reporting issues

Found something broken? Low on supplies? Stained sofa? Don't just text "done" — report it first:

Or tap Report Issue in the app. Pick a category (damage, low supplies, maintenance), add a photo and a note, and submit. The host is notified instantly and can respond before the next guest arrives. You still get paid — reporting issues is part of the job and never delays your payout.

Can't finish the job?

Sometimes things go wrong — you get sick mid-clean, or a guest hasn't checked out yet. Text:

Common questions

What if I forget a photo? Vanio will ask for it before releasing pay. Just reply with the photo.

Can I undo "done" if I sent it by mistake? Yes — text undo within 5 minutes to reopen the task.

How fast do I get paid? If the host uses instant pay, usually within 10 minutes of photo approval. Otherwise, per the host's payout schedule (often weekly).
