Command Palette Settings

Workspace admins can now choose exactly which command palette options appear for their entire team — hiding irrelevant actions in seconds.

As a workspace admin, you can now decide exactly which options appear in the command palette for everyone on your team. If your property management workflow doesn't use certain actions, you can tuck them away so your team sees only what's relevant — keeping the palette fast, focused, and distraction-free.

What It Does

The command palette is the quick-access menu your team opens with ⌘K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) to jump to common actions — things like sending a message, creating a task, or updating a reservation. With Command Palette Settings, workspace admins can hide any options that don't fit their workflow. Hidden options disappear from the palette for every user in your account instantly, and you can restore them at any time without losing any data.

Who Can Use This

This settings page is available to workspace owners and admins only. Because changes apply to every user in your account, only admins have access to make updates. If you're not an admin, you'll see a notice explaining that an owner or admin on your team manages these settings.

Note: If you need a command shown or hidden and you're not an admin, reach out to a workspace owner or admin on your team.

Getting Started

Setting up your command palette takes just a few clicks:

Go to Settings — From the main navigation, click Settings in the left sidebar.
Open Command Palette settings — Under Settings, select Command Palette from the menu.

Review your options — You'll see all available command palette actions listed, organized into groups (for example, Reservations, Messaging, Tasks).

Toggle options on or off — Each command has a toggle switch next to it. Flip the toggle off to hide that option from your team's command palette. Flip it on to make it visible again.
Save your changes — When you're happy with your selections, click Save. Your changes take effect immediately across your entire workspace — no refresh needed for your team members.

That's it! Your team will see the updated palette the next time they open it.

How It Works

Once you save your settings, the changes apply instantly and automatically for every user in your workspace. There's nothing your team needs to do — the next time anyone opens the command palette with ⌘K or Ctrl+K, they'll only see the options you've left enabled.

A few things worth knowing:

Nothing is deleted. Hiding a command simply removes it from the palette view. All the underlying features still work exactly as before — you're just choosing not to surface them through the quick-access menu.
Changes are account-wide. Every user in your workspace — regardless of their role — sees the same palette based on your settings.
You can reverse any change. Toggle any hidden option back on at any time, and it reappears in the palette for your whole team right away.
Hidden count at a glance. At the top of the settings page, you'll see a summary like "3 options hidden" so you always know the current state of your palette without scrolling through every toggle.

Tips & Best Practices

Start with a team audit. Before hiding options, spend a few minutes thinking about which actions your team uses regularly versus which ones they rarely (or never) touch. A focused palette helps newer team members learn faster by reducing noise.

Less is often more. A shorter, curated palette is quicker to scan and leads to faster action. If your team doesn't handle direct booking modifications, for example, hiding that command can reduce confusion.

Don't hide commands you're unsure about. Since restoring a hidden command is instant, you can always err on the side of showing it — but hiding commands your team actively relies on could cause frustration. When in doubt, leave it visible.

Revisit settings as your workflow evolves. If your team's responsibilities expand — say you start managing a new property type or roll out a new process — return to Command Palette Settings to re-enable any commands that are now relevant.

Communicate changes to your team. If you're hiding commands that your team is used to seeing, give them a quick heads-up. A short message like "We've trimmed the command palette — let me know if you're missing anything" goes a long way.

Common Questions

Will hiding a command affect anything other than the command palette? No. Hiding a command only removes it from the quick-access palette (⌘K / Ctrl+K). All features remain fully functional through their normal locations in the app. For example, hiding the "Send Message" command from the palette doesn't prevent anyone from sending a message through the regular messaging interface.

Can individual team members customize their own palette view? Not at this time. Command palette settings are managed at the account level by admins, and the same configuration applies to all users in your workspace. This ensures a consistent experience across your team.

I saved my changes, but a team member says they still see a hidden command — what should I do? Changes take effect immediately, but ask your team member to close and reopen the command palette (⌘K or Ctrl+K) if they have it open.
