Marketplace Settings

Choose whether providers claim, express interest in or bid on your marketplace tasks, and whether urgent tasks are filled automatically.

When you put a task on the marketplace, service providers can respond to it in up to three ways. Marketplace settings let you choose which of them your workspace uses, and whether urgent tasks are filled automatically.

Find them in Settings → Roles & Access, in the Cleaners & maintenance card. Every option starts switched on, which is how the marketplace works by default.

How providers respond to a task

Which way a provider responds depends on their relationship to the property:

  • Claim — when a provider is the only primary or backup provider for the property, they can take the task straight away. No approval is needed.
  • Express interest — when several providers share a property, each can ask for the task at a price Vanio sets from their hourly rate and the property's cleaning time. You choose who gets it.
  • Bid — on open marketplace tasks, providers name their own price and time estimate, plus any notes. You accept or reject each bid. If you set a maximum price on the task, bids above it are refused.

Choosing which ways your workspace uses

Turn an option off and providers who would have used it respond another way instead, so your tasks can still be filled:

  • Can claim tasks off — providers express interest instead, so you approve every assignment.
  • Can express interest off — providers place their own bid instead.
  • Can bid off — providers express interest at the price Vanio sets instead, so nobody names their own price.

You can combine them. For example, with claiming and bidding both off, every task goes through expressions of interest that you approve. If you turn all three off, providers can't respond to your marketplace tasks.

Urgent tasks

Accept the first offer on urgent tasks covers tasks that start within the next 24 hours and have nobody assigned. With it on, the first bid or expression of interest is accepted automatically. Vanio also checks waiting offers every 15 minutes and accepts the earliest one from a provider who isn't over their daily working hours.

Turn it off if you'd rather approve every offer yourself, even on short notice.
