Automated Delisting Detection

Automatically detects when your Airbnb listings are removed, keeping your property catalog accurate and pricing models current.

Automated Delisting Detection

What it does

Vanio automatically monitors your Airbnb listings and detects when they've been removed or taken offline, keeping your property catalog accurate and up-to-date. This feature prevents outdated listings from affecting your pricing strategy and ensures you're always working with current data about your active properties.

Getting started

Automated delisting detection works automatically in the background—no setup required. However, you can monitor its activity and review detected changes:

  1. Go to Properties → Listings in your Vanio dashboard
  2. Look for the status column where you'll see "Active" or "Delisted" for each property
  3. Click on any delisted property to view details about when it was detected as offline
  4. Check the Activity Log (Properties → Activity) to see a timeline of automatic status changes

How it works

Vanio runs automatic checks every Monday morning to verify the status of your listings. Here's what happens behind the scenes:

Weekly health checks: The system reviews all your active listings, prioritizing those that haven't been updated recently (typically 30+ days). Properties are automatically verified to ensure they're still live on Airbnb.

Smart detection: When a listing is no longer available—whether removed by you, suspended by Airbnb, or taken offline for any reason—Vanio automatically marks it as "Delisted" in your dashboard.

Immediate updates: Once detected, delisted properties are removed from active pricing calculations and revenue projections, ensuring your analytics reflect only current inventory.

Notification: You'll see status changes reflected in your dashboard immediately, and delisted properties will be clearly marked with the date they were detected as offline.

Key features

Automatic monitoring: Weekly scans of all your listings with no manual intervention required

Intelligent prioritization: Focuses on properties that haven't been updated recently, catching stale listings efficiently

Clean data: Removes inactive properties from pricing models and revenue forecasts automatically

Clear status tracking: Visual indicators in your dashboard show exactly which properties are active vs. delisted

Historical records: Maintains a complete log of when listings went offline for your records

No false positives: Uses multiple verification methods to ensure listings are genuinely unavailable before marking them as delisted

Tips & best practices

Review delisted properties monthly: Check your delisted properties to identify patterns—are certain property types or locations being removed more frequently? This insight can inform your investment strategy.

Update your records: When Vanio detects a delisting, verify whether you intentionally removed the property or if there's an issue that needs attention (like a policy violation or technical problem).

Monitor pricing accuracy: With stale listings automatically removed from calculations, your market analysis and pricing recommendations will be more accurate. Take advantage of this cleaner data for better decision-making.

Use the activity log: The automatic detection creates an audit trail that's helpful for tracking property performance over time and understanding market trends.

Common questions

What happens if a listing is temporarily unavailable? Vanio waits at least 30 days before flagging a property as potentially delisted, so temporary unavailability (like seasonal closures or brief suspensions) won't trigger false alarms. Only persistently unavailable listings are marked as delisted.

Can I manually mark a property as delisted? Yes! If you remove a listing yourself or know it's permanently offline, you can manually update its status in Properties → Listings. This helps keep your records current between automatic scans and ensures immediate removal from pricing calculations.

Will this affect my existing analytics and reports? Delisted properties are excluded from forward-looking analytics and pricing recommendations, but historical data remains intact. This means your past performance reports stay accurate while future projections only include active inventory, giving you cleaner insights for planning.
