Win Work on the Task Marketplace
Browse open tasks, place bids, and — once assigned — use the property availability calendar to plan your job around guest arrivals and departures.
What the marketplace is
The task marketplace is where hosts post cleaning, turnover, and maintenance jobs that aren't already assigned to a regular team. Cleaning companies and independent cleaners place bids, the host picks the one they like best, and the winner gets the job. It's the fastest way to pick up extra work and prove your quality to new hosts.
Finding open tasks
- Open the Marketplace tab in your dashboard.
- Filter by city, distance from your base, date, or task type (turnover, deep clean, mid-stay, maintenance).
- Tap a task to see the full details: property name, address, checkout time, next check-in, bedrooms and bathrooms, parking notes, and any special requests from the host.
You'll also receive a text message whenever a new task is posted in your service area, so you don't have to keep checking.
Placing a bid
- On the task page, tap Place Bid.
- Enter your price for the full job.
- Enter your estimated time so the host knows when the property will be ready.
- Add a short note if you want to stand out — for example, "We've cleaned this building before" or "Available to start by 11am sharp."
- Tap Submit Bid.
You can edit or withdraw your bid anytime before the host picks a winner.
How the host picks
The host sees every bid side by side, along with your average rating, total jobs completed, on-time rate, and a link to your portfolio of past task reports. They're not just looking at the lowest price — most hosts pick the cleaner with the best balance of price, reliability, and reviews.
If you're new and don't have ratings yet, your note matters more. Mention experience with similar properties, certifications, or insurance.
Viewing property availability (assigned providers)
Once you've been assigned to a task, the task detail panel shows a compact Availability calendar for that property. This lets you see at a glance which nights are booked around your job date, so you can plan your timing without having to ask the host separately.

Reading the calendar:
- Amber tiles — the property is occupied that night.
- Grey tiles — the property is free.
- Check-out icon (arrow leaving) — guests are departing that day. The property is free for a same-day arrival or turnover clean.
- Check-in icon (arrow entering) — new guests are arriving that day.
- A tile can show both icons on the same day — that's a back-to-back turnover, your busiest window.
- Your job date is outlined in blue so you can instantly place it against the surrounding occupancy.
The calendar covers roughly the week before and the month after today by default, giving you enough context for planning.
Privacy note: The calendar shows occupancy dates only — you'll never see guest names, contact details, or any other personal information.
The availability calendar is only visible when you are assigned to a task at that property. It does not appear while you are browsing open tasks or reviewing a bid you haven't won yet.
Win and lose notifications
- You won: You'll get a text confirming the assignment, with the address, access code, and checklist. Reply 1 to confirm you're on it.
- You lost: You'll get a short notification so you can stop holding the time slot. No penalty, no fee.
Building your reputation
Every job you complete adds to your bid history. After about ten completed tasks with good ratings, you'll start winning bids even when you're not the cheapest option. Hosts pay more for cleaners they trust.
Tips for winning more bids
- Bid quickly. Hosts often pick within an hour or two of posting.
- Price fairly for the work. Lowballing wins the first job but loses the relationship.
- Always send photos when you complete a task. Strong reports drive repeat business.
- Keep your profile current with service area, team size, and the types of jobs you specialize in.
- Show up on time. On-time rate is one of the top filters hosts use.
- Use the availability calendar. Once assigned, check for back-to-back turnovers so you can arrive right after checkout and finish before the next check-in.
Common questions
Do I pay a fee to bid? No. Bidding is free.
Can I bid on multiple tasks at once? Yes, as long as you can realistically cover the schedule.
What if I need to cancel after winning? Open the task and tap Cancel. Cancel rarely — repeated cancellations lower your standing on the marketplace.
Why can't I see the availability calendar on a task I haven't won yet? The calendar is only shown once you're assigned to a task at that property. It isn't available during the bidding phase.
Can I see who is staying at the property? No. The calendar shows occupied and free dates only. Guest names and personal details are never shared with service providers.
