Vanio AI Replies to Cotravelers

Vanio AI replies to cotravelers and booking agents automatically, and you'll now receive notifications for every message they send — so no guest communication goes unnoticed.

Vanio AI Replies to Cotravelers

On Airbnb, a reservation can include more than one person — the booker (the guest who made the reservation) and one or more cotravelers (the other people traveling on that booking). Any of them can message you.

Vanio AI now treats cotravelers the same as the main booker: it answers their questions automatically, just as it would for the person who booked. A travel companion asking for the WiFi password, directions, or check-in instructions gets a helpful answer right away — without waiting for you to step in.

Nothing to set up

This is automatic. If Vanio AI is handling your Airbnb conversations, it now handles cotraveler messages too. There's no new setting to flip.

The same safeguards still apply

Responding to cotravelers does not loosen any of Vanio AI's protections. The same rules that govern the main guest apply equally to cotravelers:

  • Sensitive details stay protected. A cotraveler can't get an access or lockbox code until identity verification is complete, exactly like any other guest.
  • Booking changes stay with the booker. Cancellations, date changes, extensions, and relocations are not actioned for a cotraveler — Vanio AI directs those requests to the primary guest on the reservation.
  • Anything money-related is held back and routed appropriately rather than handled in chat.

So you get faster, more complete coverage of every traveler on a booking, with the same guardrails you already rely on.

You'll always be notified

Whenever a cotraveler or booking agent sends a message, you'll receive a notification — the same way you would if the primary guest had written. No message from anyone on the reservation will go unnoticed, regardless of who on the booking sent it.

This means you can confidently rely on your notifications as a complete picture of all inbound guest communication, not just messages from the person who originally made the booking.
