How it works
When you make changes to reservations in Vanio, the system automatically sends instant notifications to your connected integrations. Here's what triggers updates:
New reservations — Whether bookings come from Airbnb, Booking.com, direct guests, or manual entry, your tools receive immediate notification with reservation details.
Reservation changes — Date modifications, guest count updates, or status changes instantly sync to your connected apps.
Cancellations — When reservations are cancelled by guests, hosts, or booking platforms, your integrations are notified immediately with cancellation details.
Guest messages — When guests, bookers, or co-travelers send you messages through any channel, your integrations receive instant notification with the message content and sender details. This now works consistently across all platforms including Airbnb, Booking.com, your website, and email communication.
Your connected tools receive these updates within seconds, ensuring your property management workflow stays synchronized across all platforms.

Tips & best practices
Monitor your integration activity regularly — Check the Activity Log weekly to ensure your connected apps are receiving updates consistently. This helps catch connectivity issues early.
Test with a sample booking — After enabling real-time updates, create a test reservation and modify it to verify your integration responds correctly to the notifications.
Test messaging across all channels — Send yourself test messages through each of your booking channels (Airbnb, Booking.com, etc.) to confirm your integration receives guest message notifications properly from all platforms.
Keep integration credentials current — Real-time updates require valid connection credentials. If an integration stops receiving updates, check that your API keys or OAuth connections haven't expired.
Don't duplicate automation — Since your integrations now receive instant updates, you may be able to disable slower polling or manual sync processes in your connected apps.
Use change tracking effectively — When your integration receives an "updated" notification, it includes information about which fields changed and their previous values, helping you build smarter automation rules.
Common questions
What happens if my integration is temporarily offline? Vanio automatically retries failed deliveries for up to 24 hours. Once your integration comes back online, it will receive all pending updates in the order they occurred.
Do I need to change anything in my connected apps? Most modern integrations automatically support real-time updates. However, you may want to adjust sync frequencies in your connected tools since they'll now receive instant notifications instead of polling for changes.
Can I see what information is sent to my integrations? Yes, go to Settings → Integrations → Activity Log and click on any update entry to see exactly what reservation data was shared with your connected app. This includes reservation ID, dates, status, guest information, and message content according to your integration's permissions.
What information do integrations receive about guest messages? When guests send messages, your integrations receive the message text, sender details (guest, booker, or co-traveler), the communication channel (Airbnb, Booking.com, etc.), and timing information. This works consistently across all booking platforms and helps you build automated responses or route urgent messages to the right team members.
